I like these two maps showing what countries occupied where in Europe at the end of World War II. I like the first one (On Top) because it clearly shows where the American, British, French and Soviet armies controlled different parts of Europe that was once controlled by Nazi Germany. I like the second map (On Bottom) because Berlin is clearly part of the Soviet zone of occupation, but the city itself was divided among the U.S., British, French and Soviets. The map clearly shows the sections that were divided up among the four countries. Both of these maps are easy to read, and are not cluttered with unnecessary information. They both have an easy to use scale and both contain a compass rose that not only looks cool, but is also the right size. The source for these two maps is Bill O'reilly's book, Killing Patton.
This map is a fun map of the United States, with each state being represented by an American company that was started in the state it represents. Starbucks was first started in Seattle, so it represents Washington, Nike was created in Oregon, and Albertsons got its start in Idaho. The source of this map is http://www.viralnova.com and is also displayed on Google Maps.
